To ensure the highest-quality molds, we maintain two mills with 15,000 RPM spindles, allowing us to machine aluminum and steel molds with impressive speed. Mold making typically requires significant metal removal and slow feed rates—and as is standard in precision machining, the longer the machining time, the higher the costs. With our fast-spindle mills, we can machine molds faster than most shops, resulting in better costs and lead times for our customers.

Summit CNC regularly machines molds for injection molding and compression molding:
Injection Molding. For high-volume or mass-produced identical parts, injection molding is a terrific solution. We make each mold to your specifications with carefully formed cavities. This mold style gets injected with a molten material or “charge,” which, when cooled, forms your part or product.
Compression Molding. Ideal for high-volume composite components, compression molds are made to close around the charge, with the excess material overflowing into grooves in the mold. Custom machined to your design specifications, our compression molds produce high-caliber parts that meet your exacting standards.
